emirEmir Dirik

I am a PhD student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Poly. My research is focused on multimedia-security-related problems, such as data hiding, image forensics, and graphical passwords. Nowadays I investigate image-forensics-related problems and try to come up with better solutions.

I was born in Turkey, and received my B.S. from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Uludag University in Bursa, Turkey, in 1999. I got my M.S. and M.B.A. degrees from the same university in 2002. My M.S. thesis was related to global positioning systems and their tracking applications. Between 2002 and 2004, I worked at Uludag University as a research assistant and studied the dispersion properties of fiber optic lines, focusing particularly on polarization mode dispersion. Since 2005, I've been working with Professor N. Memon on multimedia-security-related projects.

In addition to my work, I enjoy reading, playing basketball, skiing, and watching movies. Lately, I also enjoy playing with my little baby, Irem.
